Frequently asked questions
What clients ask us most
What should I do if I receive a summons from the Labor Conciliation Center?
Don't ignore it. The hearing has a fixed date, and not attending can lead to a fine and close the chance to settle before a lawsuit. Gather the employee's contract, payroll receipts and social security (IMSS) records, and send us a photo of the summons.
What do I need to dismiss someone for just cause?
A cause listed in the Federal Labor Law, evidence to support it, and a written termination notice stating the conduct and its date. If the notice is not delivered to the employee or through the Labor Court, the law presumes the dismissal was unjustified. Deadlines are short, so message us before you communicate the decision.
Is my company liable if a service supplier has no REPSE registration?
It can be. If you hire specialized services or works from a supplier without a valid REPSE registration, your company may become jointly liable to its workers, and those payments may not be deductible or allow VAT credits. Before you hire or renew, we review each supplier's registration and contract.
What changes with the reduced workweek?
The maximum workweek goes down gradually: 46 hours in 2027, 44 in 2028, 42 in 2029 and 40 in 2030, with no salary reduction. Companies must adjust shifts, contracts and internal work rules.
This is general guidance; every case is different and it does not replace an individual review.
